What's that? You say you've never heard of the holiday?
If Neil Gaiman says so, it's a real holiday.
This year, I will be giving the following books to my loved ones on this super spooky holiday:
For littlest, who likes to say she sees ghostes for real:
For eldest who asks why zombies can't dance, I put The Cramps Zombie Dance on her shuffle and this book in her hands:
To my Dearest Husband (not to be confused with my plain ole Dear Husband, I guess,) I will be giving him:
Because it scared the bejesus out of me and because I'm currently reading the sequel:
So, what will you read this SpookTober? What will you give for All Hallow's Read?
I'd forgotten about Bunnicula! I should get that for my oldest. :)
ReplyDeleteI know, it's an oldie, but a goodie. And since we have bunnies, my eldest is very excited to get into the series. She even said, "Bunnicula loves artichokes, just like me." I swear, I'm not making that up!
DeleteYou suggested one of my favorite freaky reads this year which was The Angels Are the Reapers! I'll be curious to hear what you think of Shadows. I read the ARC last spring.
ReplyDeleteJealous that you got to read the ARC early! I've just cracked it open but I'm already white knuckling it. What continues to amaze me is how beautifully written it is while never letting up on the action. It reminds me of that Willy Wonka quote, "The suspense is terrible. I hope it lasts!"
DeleteMan, I haven't read a scary book in years (maybe since Bunnicula). You've inspired me.
