What is your Winter Read?

Going into the silent season, I am thinking a lot about how much I love to read certain books again and again when there's snow on the ground. I'm listening to the audio book of JANE EYRE - a book that I try to re-read each winter. I am loving every moment of it. Some books just seem perfect for colder weather, the kind of book you want to sink into - mental protection against the waning sun and the dropping mercury. Why doesn't someone make a list of Winter Snow Reads, when we're always hit with Summer Beach Read lists come July?

Let's make a list. In comments, let me know:
1) What new books are you looking forward to reading this winter?
2) What books are you looking forward to get re-acquainted with this winter? (You+hot beverage+book+blanket=ReaderBliss)
3) What is your favorite winter themed book?

I'm signing off for the holidays today. I hope you all have an amazing holiday - and wish you a shed load of prosperity and peace for the new year.

  1. Hi! Amazingly enough, I've never listened to an audio book. I should try, although I'm a very visual person and like to control the speed of my book experiences. :) I love curling up under an afghan on the couch and reading. My next book is by my bloggy buddy Lydia Kang, her new release called CONTROL. Happy New Year!

    1. Hi Carol! I MISSED the CONTROL's birthday because the holidays swallowed me up. But it is now firmly on my OH MY GOD I HAVE TO HAVE IT NOW NOW NOW. list! Also, I can't recommend audiobooks enough - when they're good - they are VERY GOOd (the audible.com Brilliance edition of JANE EYRE is amazing. I want the narrator to be my best friend.) I get so much more reading done! Though that afghan + couch scenario does sound heavenly.

  2. I swear I didn't come here to stalk Carol! But hey, hi Carol and thanks for your support! The next book I'm reading this winter is "The Symptoms of My Insanity" by Mindy Raf. Bought it a while ago and dying to read it. :)

I've also never done audio books. I'm waiting for my next road trip. Also--I reread Jane Eyre every year. *high five*

    1. *high fives for Jane and little Helen Burns* (still makes me cry) hmmm. friendly stalking is absolutely admitted on this site! I've put CONTROL on my 'must read ASAP' list and it sits next to IT'S KIND OF A FUNNY STORY, THE TOMBS OF ATUAN and ENDERS for this month's reads. I can't recommend audiobooks enough. It's the only way I manage to run or exercise at all!
